Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

And I kissed her goodbye, I said, "All beauty must die"
And lent down and planted a rose between her teeth

I'm sure I don't have to introduce Nick Cave, Australian singer/song-writer and influential figure of the post-punk and gothic rock scenes. He became famous with his band The Birthday Party, after which he formed Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. He is currently working with Grinderman, a garage rock band consisting of four members of The Bad Seeds.

Murder Ballads is a 1996 release by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. The album consists of several songs about the details and consequences of murders. Murder Ballads was The Bad Seeds most commercially successful release, with the song Where The Wild Roses Grow gaining frequent MTV airplay.

Guest musicians present on this album include PJ Harvey, Shane MacGowan and (in a surprisingly good turn) Kylie Minogue.

This album is proper good, and beautiful at times. Be sure to give it a listen.
