Hailing from Norway, Lamented Souls is an excellent Doom Metal band. Their sound is raw and heavy, with the vocals coming as haunting and emotional. The guitarwork is riff-heavy and the soloing is great. This album is a best-of/compilation of their tracks that have been recorded since their demo in 1993. The first 7 tracks were recorded in 1997 and have better production than the demo-quality ones that come last, which is why some of the songs are on there twice. Highlights from this album are Hybris, Var, and, my personal favorite, Eternal Existence.
