Thin Lizzy are a totally fucking awesome hard rock band from Ireland. Their lead singer, Phil Lynott, was a rad dude but he was just too rad. In fact, he was so rad that he died. In Dublin they remember him as the raddest black dude ever to be Irish and built a statue of him and everything. Everyone agrees that the statue is hella rad.

This album is a selection of live recording made for the BBC, and were originally aired by John Peel. John Peel was also so rad that he died of over-radness. All of these songs are hella rad, especially Emerald, Bad Reputation and Vagabonds Of The Western World.

Maybe if you download this and listen to it you might be able to learn some pointers on how to some day be as rad as Thin Lizzy.

Eagles Of Death Metal

I love this album. I just listened to it again this morning for the first time in months and I remembered just how ridiculously awesome it is. If you are lame and do not listen to Eagles Of Death Metal (super lame), they are a stoner-y garage rock band from California with Josh Homme of Kyuss and Queens Of The Stone Age fame. Don't expect this (their second full-length) to sound like either of those bands though, because it doesn't. This is just no nonsense, balls-out, jangly, good-time, dirty rock music. The dirtiest. This is probably one the most fun records I own, and anyone should enjoy it.

By the way, if you wondering about the band's name, it came from when they were trying to get Josh Homme into death metal and played him some Vader. (I should probably upload some Vader, they are awesome and probably my favourite DM band) Anyway, Josh Homme said that Vader were kind of like "The Eagles of Death Metal". Josh Homme was then challenged to make an album that sounded like The Eagles crossed with death metal, and the band's first full-length was the result. The More You Know!

Velvet Revolver - Libertad

The new Velvet Revolver album is different from their first album, but in a good way. Contraband was 'in-your-face' heavy, but Libertad is more diverse. It's chock-full of heavy rocking tracks, but has it's fair share of power ballads. As always, Slash gets a solo in every song and shows his mastery of the Wah-Wah pedal, while Scott Weiland is in top form on vocals. Notable heavy tracks include Let It Roll, She Mine, and Just Sixteen. Notable ballads include The Last Fight and my favorite, Gravedancer.
